Swiftships has been the leading patrol boat builder in the United States ever since its predecessor company, Sewart Seacraft, delivered over 200 "Swift" boats in support of the Vietnam conflict. Since Swiftships was established in 1969, it has designed and built over 550 vessels ranging in size from less than 25' to 225' in length. Swiftships has delivered boats to all branches of the U.S. Military, as well as to 41 foreign countries.

The key to Swiftships' long term success is that it has consistently remained on the leading edge of medium-size vessel design and construction technology, and has applied its advanced designs to vessels which have both military and commercial applications. For example, the same advanced hull design and water jet propulsion technology which makes Swiftships' latest 57 meter offshore crewboats the most efficient and reliable in the industry will also result in the most efficient and reliable 57 meter patrol boats. This is the same as 30 years ago when the 50 foot and 65 foot crewboats of the time became the rugged and reliable "Swift" patrol boats.
